Walking

The Alicante Mountains offer spectacular scenery and are something of a hidden gem of the region; as most visitors to the Costa Blanca are reluctant to leave the beach, walkers are likely to have the rugged limestone peaks, orchids, almond blossoms and golden eagles to themselves. Numerous social walking groups and professional guiding companies work in the area, and many route maps are available freely online. A few links are provided below for inspiration. Also look for books on Costa Blanca walks, or Alicante Mountain walks.
